That’s me in New York 2016. I paid for my own flight, food, alcohol and even brought back each of my three kids something other than a lousy T-Shirt. Disclaimer: I did have a free place to stay, but that’s a story for another time.
My name is Cheri. No, not Sherry or Cherry (though my head automatically turns in the direction of anyone saying a name that begins with a “sh” sound).
You will find most posts here are my experiences as a single middle-aged mother. But don’t be surprised if I throw in a haiku now and then because I’m pretty creative and love the challenge of getting my point across in 17 syllables.
Here are a few more things about me:
Kids: I have three children (G – 22, B – 20, B – 11)
Places: I was born in Los Angeles, CA and moved to a very small town in southern Missouri when I was 13. I moved back to Cali when I was 17. Currently, I live in Ventura – a small coastal city halfway between Santa Barbara and Malibu.
Passions: Animals ~ I don’t eat them and I feel it is my duty to be their voice anyway I can.
My music~ I love attending concerts. My favorite are New Wave bands from the 80’s and Modern Alt Rock. I am a self-proclaimed seat snob and more than likely won’t go to a show unless I have kickass seats.
Dallas Cowboys football~ Though I’ve been a fan since I was 7, this past season was probably my favorite.
